If you’re a fan of Warner Bros. cartoons, then a Bugs Bunny tattoo is the perfect way to show your love for one of the most iconic characters in animation history. Bugs Bunny is not only beloved by children, but he also appeals to adults with his clever wit and sense of humor. A tattoo of this lovable rabbit will not only make you smile, but it will also be a conversation starter that is sure to get people talking.
There are many different designs available for a Bugs Bunny tattoo, so you can choose one that best suits your personal style. Whether you want a simple outline of his face or a more detailed design featuring his famous catchphrase, “What’s up, Doc?”, there’s a tattoo out there that’s perfect for you.
So towards this year, I decided I was getting a tattoo on both hands and feet, which you will not misunderstand, I already have a tattoo on one of my hands, half a sleeve of a large forest, but we will get to that later.
The Decision
So first of all, I don’t like to “just get a tattoo”, I have to get a tattoo with something that means something to me, even a Bugs Bunney tattoo. I am, on the one hand, very childish, and my two children can attest to that. I like to play with my kids more than they want to play with me. Every day as a kid, I was watching the Looney Tunes, so I decided to tattoo on myself forever something that would remind me that it’s great to be childish (even when I had cancer, I was never angry, but I will keep it for a post on another day).
So I decided that I needed to learn how to do it right. Bugs Bunny in disguise that it’s always good to dress up as something we want to be; it gives strength to be genuinely the end product.
The Sketch
First, I sat with the tattoo artist to choose the best version of the tattoo that I wanted, so I picked it from a Google search. Then we started to arrange it according to what I wanted. You could see the differences if you paid attention to the first sketch and the result. Also, we took down the carrots he has in the middle of the symbol because I do want Superman’s S. After all, that’s my name too (Shmulik).
So what they usually do they print out the picture in black and white. They draw the contours with a pen, and after that, they mark around, put on the hand like a sticker (like those we used as kids), then it is easy for the tattooist to go over everything with the needle properly.
At first, if you notice, we thought of putting it with the hand down, but when you lower your hand down in a daily posture, no one will understand with it is. So we turned it around afterward and continued working.
Colors?
And now you have the decision in your hands, whether to do it in colors? Or start with shadows only so that they are not colorful to you. (And I was even wondering how can you even do a white color on skin, like for those Bugs Bunny white gloves)
So, as you have already noticed, I went for the shadows because I have my sleeve with the other hand, and I did not want to start mixing colors too much with the hands, so I went in the same direction.
The recovery
After rubbing a balm 3 times a day, hoping there will be no scars, sit and wait. Try not to get into the water (chlorine and such will be quickly destroyed later on). And that will not burn you, do not be in the sun, and in general, never recommend doing a tattoo in the summer. Sun on a new tattoo is basically on an open wound and not big fun.
I hope you like my new tattoo. There will be quite a few more later. After all, I am working on 2 full sleeves by the end of the year. Hopefully, I will stand it, especially in pain. The decision already exists, only the pain in the head, and it just passes and needs to be remembered.
The Future For This Tattoo?
I will get more Looney Tunes characters, like Daffy Duck, Taz, Twitty bird, etc. I do want it to become a bigger, nicer tattoo for all my favorites from the tunes on Bugs Bunny episodes.
